Description
Swedish artist Carl Michael von Hausswolff traveled to Alamut in Iran in 1986. Among other places, he visited the legendary mountain dwelling of Hassan i Sabbah, the “old man on the mountain” and leader of the feared Hashishin sect. Sabbah’s life and his activities have become the stuff of myth and legend, and have inspired authors and artists like William S Burroughs, Brion Gysin and countless others. Together with von Hausswolff, we have made an edition of two of his photographs from the 1986 visit to Alamut. They have been printed in an edition of 23 numbered and signed copies, and are only available as a set of both images.
